A warm hello from Aminah, Wingo’s new CEO!
I am incredibly thrilled to step into the role of Principal + CEO at Wingo NYC.
For the past 20 years, I have worked on the ground with nonprofits in the education and social justice sectors, witnessing firsthand the complex challenges you face every day. I’ve long admired how the Wingo team channels such immense creativity into solving those exact hurdles.
To now bring that experience to this brilliant group of consultants—and to collaborate with all of you—is a true privilege.
Why I do this work
I was drawn to this calling as a consultant (or as I like to say: strategic advisor, partner, doer and friend) because I remember the times when I was a one-person development shop, feeling lonely, isolated, and stressed—often wishing I had someone I could talk to, someone to pitch ideas with, or simply someone who understood what I was going through.
Like most fundraisers, I didn't go to school for this; I fell into it, learning by doing and observing without the benefit of a roadmap. Over time, I eventually found “my people” (and met Doug!). All that to say, I do this work because I want to be the “fairy-fundraising godmother” that I wish I had all those years ago.
So, whether you are a solo practitioner looking to strengthen your fundraising infrastructure or a seasoned leader needing a partner to execute a complex capital campaign or gala, I am here to ensure you have the support and capacity to succeed.
